I climbed up a ledge
and looked up when
A drop of golden beam
stole silently
Down a bough, perched like
a lone sentinel
Upon a timeless rock
in the fall wind.
Oh, could I stay here
as seasons die,
Waiting for a dawn
when hope gives way
And faith becomes sight
As twinkling eyes
Behold a glory
Untold, unseen.
and looked up when
A drop of golden beam
stole silently
Down a bough, perched like
a lone sentinel
Upon a timeless rock
in the fall wind.
Oh, could I stay here
as seasons die,
Waiting for a dawn
when hope gives way
And faith becomes sight
As twinkling eyes
Behold a glory
Untold, unseen.
